Synopsis: In this session Russell will explore risk capacity, tolerance and appetite generally and within a higher education setting, drawing on the presenters' experience of recently developing, implementing and using a new risk appetite approach.
Paul Griffiths from the University of Leeds will share a practical example of how risk appetite has been operationalised within the risk management process
Speaker bios:
Russell Grant is the Risk Manager at University of York, (the one with the duck and the news stories of letting in international students in with lower qualifications). Risk Management at York covers the full enterprise of corporate, academic, professional support, subsidiaries and projects, with recent work on revising the institution’s risk appetite and generating a full assurance map of almost all (!) risks.
Paul Griffiths is the Strategic Risk & Resilience Director at the University of Leeds.
