STRATEGY INTEREST GROUP

Terms of Reference:
- The group aims to provide a forum to share insights into the development and implementation of institutional level strategy.
- The main objective being, to hold workshops, invite guest speakers, and share ideas about good practice, in institutional strategy development and implementation, particularly in relation to the role of senior strategic planners.
- To discuss and provide advice on a range of strategic interests. Broad themes include.
i. Strategy development and alignment.
ii. Operationalisation of strategy.
iii. Getting buy – in/Collective ownership and spreading the word institution – wide.
iv. Sustainable strategy implementation.
v. Combining strategy, statistics and performance.
vi. Strategy adaptation in a changing environment, including prioritisation in implementation and delivery in a changing environment.
vii. Developing team and people, making strategic thinkers, and distinguishing and organising responsibilities in strategy development and implementation.
viii. Exploration of the relationship between corporate strategy and other enabling/supporting strategies.
- To proactively engage in and contribute to strategic planners across the sector. The group will be of particular interest to senior members of strategic planning departments i.e. Directors, Deputy Directors and Heads. It is expected that the group will predominately comprise staff who are working at a strategic level, alongside, and in support of senior management teams, in academic and professional services.
- When required, issues discussed at the working group may be escalated by the portfolio lead and presented at HESPA Executive.
Membership
- The group is open to all members of HESPA.
