In this session, Paul Dudley will present on the risk bow tie method for understanding the causes and effects of risks.
Clare Foyle will then describe how the methodology has been applied to UCL’s strategic risk register, and will demonstrate how it has been used to improve the presentation of the risks on the register. Clare will use the student recruitment risk as an example of how the approach is benefitting UCL’s approach to risk management.
Paul Dudley is a Risk Management Trainer and Consultant, and former Corporate Risk Manager with a number of public bodies.
Clare Foyle is the Director of Strategic Planning at UCL, and is passionate about how risk management and strategic planning intersect, enabling universities to achieve their strategic goals. She has worked across a number of different higher education institutions in the last 15 years in strategic planning and institutional research roles.
